While enormous effort has gone into objections to the Tesco plan for Sherborne it is very important that the consultation now taking place regarding the changes to the original local plan are not ignored.
After the first series of consultations last year, during which major objections were raised to the proposal for 800 houses and extra industrial units on the Barton Farm site in Sherborne, changes have been made to the plan which amongst other things keeps the development at Barton Farm to the site which already has outline planning permission.
In addition it further cements the designation of the site of The Sherborne Hotel as one for small business or hotel use. It is very important that these changes to the plan, which many in Sherborne fought hard to achieve, are featured in the plan as it is sent to the Inspector later this year.
To do this we need you to indicate your approval in writing to the WDDC by 14th March. Further information and an online response form can be found at www.dorsetforyou.com/newlocalplan/west/weymouth. You might find these bullets points useful too – read them HERE
